The design of 10830 Jasper has a defined horizontality to it, however these horizontal lines are complimented by two feature recessed, canted elements which rise vertically away from the building. One is a segmented curve at the southeast corner of Jasper and 108th Street and the other is a vertical façade above the main entrance. Both rise from the retail podium the full height of the building and project above the roof level. These elements break up the mass of the building and add interest to the street front façades.
The one- and two-storey retail podium is kept in proportion to the Jasper retail frontages of the past, which maintains the human scale, but still connects the street level to the 11-storey tower above. The podium and its mercantile purpose is further accentuated by halo-lit shop signage and crisp modern finishes, such as architectural metal panels and black striated porcelain tiles. The selected blue-tinted glass and mullionless joints of the tower provides for clean lines and will establish this building as a landmark at the western gateway to the downtown core.
